Finnish Knife is a refined blade that unites the raw strength of S125V steel with the natural elegance of grenadilla wood and the rare beauty of mammoth ivory — a true collector’s piece built to last generations.
The blade is made of steel S125V and has hardness 65 HRC. The handle is made of grenadilla and inlaid with mammoth ivory.
Mammoth ivory is a unique material because of its value and properties. Tusks which have been lying for tens of thousands of years in permafrost, are extracted today in just a few regions of our planet. A very small percentage can be kept in a condition suitable for sculpture manufacturing. The Olmart House uses mammoth ivory of superior quality only.
Black African wood is the tree of Africa, which belongs to the most hard and durable species. Its texture is dominated by a deep black-brown color, but during processing and polishing, veins appear, revealing unpredictable and unique pattern with gleam and color transitions from gray to dark green and even violet.
