It is believed that the first games to which chess can trace its ancestry appeared in India more than 1500 years ago. The classical rules of the game were, however, not formed until the 15th century, by which time the game had already spread across the lands of Asia, Africa and Europe. Today, centuries later, chess continues to be considered the queen of games, uniting science, art, and sport.
This intellectual game inspired Olmart House to begin creating unique, precious and inimitable chess sets. Some are made of mammoth ivory in combination with precious metals and stones, mother-of-pearl, and ebony. Others are formed of gold and encrusted with diamonds and pearls.
